Packaging Calculator
Turn a harvest into retail packs and shipping boxes — how many packs at your pack size, how many boxes, and exactly what's left over.
Enter the total you're packing, the weight per pack, and how many packs fill a box. The calculator assumes packs are filled to the stated weight, and shows the leftover — what's short of a full pack — so you can sell it loose, keep it, or round a couple of packs up. Works the same for fresh punnets or dried bags.
Counts assume packs are filled to the stated weight. Leftover is what's short of a full pack — sell it loose, keep it, or bump a couple of packs slightly.
How to use it
- Enter the total harvest. The weight you're packing, fresh or dried, in metric or imperial.
- Set the pack size. The weight that goes in each punnet or bag.
- Set packs per box. How many packs fill a shipping box.
- Read the counts. Packs, full boxes, loose packs in the last box, and leftover weight.
Questions
What is a standard mushroom pack size?
Retail punnets are often 100–250 g, but it varies by market and buyer. Set whatever size you actually sell in.
What do I do with leftover?
Sell it loose, keep it for yourself, or bump a couple of packs slightly over weight.
How many packs go in a box?
It depends on your box and distributor; twelve is common. The calculator shows full boxes plus any loose packs in the last.
Does this work for dried mushrooms?
Yes — just enter the dried weight and your dried pack size.
